Snapshots From Makati Street Meet: Chillout Music Night

Can you believe we've reached the halfway mark of 2018 already? Yes, Makatizens, it's already July, and indeed how time flies fast when you're in the wonderful and marvellous City That Makes It All Happen.

There was no better way to celebrate the coming of July than with six amazing hours of partying in a cordoned off Paseo de Roxas. Of course, you know what we're talking about--it's the Makati Street Meet: Chillout Music Night which was held last Sunday, July 1 to much fanfare and excitement. Suffice to say, the neighbourhood street party was a blast!

There's a lot to be thankful for as the weather was very cooperative, despite the week's daily downpour.

Come 5 o'clock, Paseo de Roxas was already jam-packed with Makatizens on a food trip. And quite the food trip it was, with food trucks and food tents hawking must-try bites, from Mexican pica-pica to the best-selling bagnet patong rice, you name it! Other notable merchants included Infinitea, Starbucks, and Firestation.

Arts and crafts hobbyists had a swell time with all-night workshop sessions from the Papelikhaan booth. Those who wanted to unwind on a Sunday evening were treated to sweet sets from performers such as Nikki Nava, Kai Atienza, and TenOSix.

Workshop attendees were all excited to learn the basics of paper-weaving. And there was a lot to learn about from the Papelikhaan workshops.

Now, this is something new: Black is the new black! Squid-ink-flavored pizza was one of the many dishes that drew in a crowd. We can attest; it was really delish!

Kai Atienza performed another heart-rending set of tunes, much to the evening crowd's delight.

Makati Street Meet is Ayala Land and Make It Makati's monthly neighbourhood street party in Paseo de Roxas. It happens during the first Sunday of the month. It aims to foster the spirit of community amongst the denizens of Makati.
