Makati Street Meet Egg Hunt

Black Saturday had ended. And the bright and colorful Day of Easter--a day that commemorates the resurrection of Christ-- had begun. Well-rested Makatizens were eager to go out and feel the summer sunshine.

Indeed, April 1 was a Sunday like no other as Paseo de Roxas was closed down the night before and food trucks and tents were brought in. (How's that for an Easter celebration, right?)

Of course, it was the culmination of the Holy Week holiday in the City That Makes It All Happen, and what better way to celebrate it than by having Makati's monthly street meet once again! But time, it came with an Easter-themed twist.

It was an exciting afternoon and evening for friends, families, and Makatizens, with lots of games, prizes, workshops, food trucks and a pocket concert to boot. Notable buskers such as Kai Atienza, Yan Abelardo, and Nikki Nava jammed their hearts out to a thrilled audience.

EGG HUNT RECAP

Attendees were greeted by this cute standee and a colorful assortment of balloons. And our city's very own Ayala Triangle Gardens was transformed into a pastel-colored playground.

Surely, the egg-painting workshop stirred the children's knack for all things art. And what's great is all of them were able to bring home their masterpieces. 

SOMETHING FOR THE GROWN-UPS TOO

Bagnet was the order of the day, as the Bagwings food truck drew in quite a crowd. 

Makatizens get a taste test of the street food on offer. Makati Street Meet, of course, is synonymous with gustatory delight. Especially the smoked meats. 

A GREAT NIGHT FOR BUSKING

Of course, the festivities wouldn't be complete without some acoustic tunes--a long-standing Street Meet tradition. Pictured here is Kai Atienza, who enchanted the crowd with her set.
