Makati FitFest was a two-day event that put the spotlight on the latest in all things fitness and wellness.
There were classes and workshops available for a variety of specific fitness activities,from Inside Flow yoga to traditional yoga, groove and rhythm to dance fitness, from cross training to Pound. Admission to all classes were free.
Makati FitFest started at 9AM with Power Vinyasa by Yoga Hive with instructor Kloe Laconico, an empowering workout that focused on alignment, connection of breath and fluid movement.
Next on the agenda was Inside Flow by Rebel Yoga Manila with instructor Vina Oca. Participants spread out their yoga mats and gently moved from one posture to the next, making movement, breath, and music as one.
At 11AM, Curves Philippines gave a Body Basics + Zumba class, giving attendees a total body workout that offered cardiovascular conditioning.
In line with Make It Makati’s Less Plastic Is Fantastic campaign, Makati FitFest was proud to have Certified Calm and Klean Kanteen as its official hydration partners. In its mission to “refuse single use”, the booth also sold beautifully-designed stainless steel water bottles.
Those looking to monitor their health using cutting-edge technology visited the Tanita Philippines booth. They were provided a free full-body composition analysis during the event.
The workouts resumed at 4PM with Nude Floor’s exciting Groove & Rhythm (Hip Hop) class, suited for beginners and advanced-level dancers alike.
By 5 o’clock, the venue was alive and kicking with Slimmers World Aero-G! Marathon as curated by Slimmers World Pasay Road.
After a burning some calories, attendees trooped to the Mercato Locale tent, a market that brought food selections related to health and wellness. The line-up of merchants included names such as All About Mushrooms, Go! Salads, and Poké Stop amongst many.
To cap off the festivities of Day One, participants had a grand time with the event’s first round of Pound by Rebel Yoga, as instructed by Pound tour crew Madia Dinglasan.
The fun Makati FitFest festivities continued the following day on a beautiful Sunday.
Participants of Makati FitFest’s Day Two hit the ground running with a HIIT Pilates class courtesy of Yoga Plus.
Up next was the Boom Twins Bootcamp, courtesy of Crosstrain.ph and Manila Bulletin, and under the instruction of fitness superstars Dino and Gian Orallo Mercado.
After a good cool down, the Parkour Fitness by Elite Aerial Arts & Muscle Up Gym followed suit.
Classes resumed at 4PM with DNA Raw by Celebrity Fitness, a street and hip hop dance class everyone was excited to join in!
Come 5PM, a second round of Pound by Rebel Yoga was in order. Once again, Pound Tour Crew instructor Madie Dinglasan took the stage. The Globe Circuit Events Grounds was truly jam-packed with eager participants with Ripstix.
Next up, attendees had the time of their lives with an hour of Dance Fitness by The 9th Studios with The Manoeuvres.
Last but not the least, to cap off the momentous event, a sizable crowd gathered under the iconic amphitheater for MIXXEDFIT with instructor Donna Lim. And with all the fun energy and good vibes swirling around, it was a fitting conclusion to the event.
Indeed, it was a weekend like no other in the City That Makes It All Happen. It was the two-day fitness festival, Makati FitFest, where communities were connected through fitness.
